  • AstraZeneca: British - Swedish multinational pharamaceutical and biologics company headquartered in London, United Kingdom
    AstraZeneca is a global, innovation-driven biopharmaceutical business that focuses on the discovery, development and commercialisation of prescription medicines, primarily for the treatment of cardiovascular, metabolic, respiratory, inflammation, autoimmune, oncology, infection and neuroscience diseases. AstraZeneca operates in over 100 countries and its innovative medicines are used by millions of patients worldwide. New £1bn Global R&D Centre (Laboratories) & Corporate Headquarters Building - Cambridge Biomedical Campus Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to AstraZeneca and MedImmune throughout the basic and detailed design phase. In the main our role was to lead and co-ordinate the multi-disciplined engineering design team in the development of the Laboratory Design to meet the identified Business needs of MedImmune Scientific Users (the biologics research and development arm of Astra Zeneca).

  • DEFRA - Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs
    DEFRA 87,000 sqm site in Weybridge incorporate critical laboratories as well as other specialist support buildings that provide the UK’s primary capability for managing threats posed by the spread of high-risk diseases. £1.5bn capital investment programme to renew and upgrade the complex science facilities that provide the UK’s primary capability for managing threats posed by the spread of high-risk diseases Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to lead a Value Engineering exercise (VE, optimising benefits) and a Value Management exercise (VM, optimising the built solution), and to obtain the best possible position on capital cost (including schedule and a view on risk & uncertainty) seeking an affordable solution within the initial OBC sanction level to and to re-baseline the programme - cost, time, and scope.

    Project Lifecycle Services built and led the team that delivered five viable RIBA stage 2 (concept) designs and four options for amongst other things a new >£600m complex high containment facility on the site. Under extremely challenging circumstances (including operating remotely due to Covid restrictions) we worked tirelessly to build and bring the supply chain together.

    We encouraged a culture of a one team approach and delivery at pace. The project team delivered a viable scheme aligned with User Requirements on time to support the overall programme business case within the initial, preliminary OBC sanction level.

  • Johnson Matthey
    Johnson Matthey (Clean Air) are world leaders in the design, development, and manufacture of emission control catalysts (catalytic convertors) that help to reduce emissions from vehicles. Project Portfolio Leadership & Recovery of three business-critical new highly automated manufacturing facilities in China, India & Poland £350m Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to Johnson Matthey to recover two business - critical projects at risk of failing to deliver their required outputs and business benefits. Poland and China.

    Key driver was meeting rising customer demand for emission control catalysts. Risk of severe penalties, loss of revenue and catastrophic almost irreversible damage to reputation and a failure to realise the ROI detailed within the business case because of ongoing cost and schedule overruns.

    Project Lifecycle Services led delivery of all 3 projects including recovery of failing projects in Poland & China. Rebuilt and optimised Polish team; led audit of China project; conducted risk workshop in China/developed & actioned mitigation plans; rebuilt Chinese project team; decoupled project from existing China functions/processes; and produced achievable China schedule & cost model. Succeeded in enabling delivery of Poland and China project on-time and under budget in line with re-baselined plans. India scheduled and on-track for 2021 delivery.

  • Gyron Internet Ltd
    Gyron Internet, provides highly resilient and energy-efficient datacentre services, supporting business critical IT applications for customers such as Adobe, BSkyB, NTT Europe, Salesforce, Spotify, and Symantec, from five state-of-the-art datacentre facilities in the Southeast of England. Portfolio Recovery and Build (in-house Project Delivery Capability £750m Gyron was a young immature, but rapidly expanding start-up company subsequently sold to NTT.

    Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to transform Gyron’s project delivery capability through establishment of a new Projects Group comprising Data Centre Architects, Project Managers and PMO. Sourced and onboarded third party SME project and construction management resources and support.

    Gyron needed to build project delivery capability from the ground up to optimise delivery of a c.£750m mission-critical data centre project portfolio. As Programme Director, built project delivery capability. Restructured flagship £150m 30MW Data Centre programme; developed & led multi- functional projects department including PMO; advised senior management on project recovery strategies; and prompted large-scale business transformation programme including business process design & cultural change. Succeeded in optimising project delivery to re-baselined schedule/budget & driving a portfolio of expansion projects.

  • BP: Multinational Oil and Gas Company headquartered in London - England
    BP's Pushing Reservoir Limits team is responsible for developing and deploying Enhanced Oil Recovery technology across BP. The team is engaged in developing breakthrough recovery solutions in gas flooding, waterflooding, chemical flooding and in the measurement and prediction of recovery performance in state of the art coreflooding laboratories in Sunbury. Laboratory capability - building Programme Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to (PRL) - Pushing Reservoir Limits and (GWO) – Global Wells Organisation to enable the delivery of additional short and long term laboratory - capability in both the Eastern & Western Hemisphere.

  • RLtec: London - England
    RLtec provide energy balancing services to the National Grid which assists in the de-carbonisation of electricity supply, makes the grid more stable and is a key enabler for the integration of renewable energy, thus lowering the country'Â’s carbon emissions. Software development and rollout Programme Essentially a capability-building exercise for Project Lifecycle Services to acquire additional resource and provide expert advice, hands-on assistance, awareness, support, guidance, coaching and leadership to the existing team through product definition, feasibility, development, validation and product rollout to circa 500 Sainsbury and Tesco stores.

  • Health Protection Agency: Porton Down - England
    HPA Porton Down researches infectious diseases and manufactures a number of products including vaccines and therapeutics. Laboratory new builds / refurbishments and process improvements Programme Project Lifecycle Services provided programme / project management services to assist in the overall direction and management of projects through a dedicated team of project managers and other specialist staff and support personnel, ensuring consistency with corporate strategy and consistency of process across projects to the complete customer-corporate satisfaction with project outputs/corporate outcomes through to validation IQ/OQ/PQ and start-up.

  • Glaxo Smithkline: Dartford - England
    GSK Dartford is a primary pharmaceutical manufacturing plant a member of the GSK group of companies. Primary - Bulk Pharmaceutical upgrade of process automation systems Project Project Lifecycle Services provided project management services to assist in the migration of the existing process automation systems to a new platform and improved process control and repeatability, allowing process performance to be optimised, with consequent cost benefits in material usage / yield as well as cycle time and capacity.

    ZincOx's business is recycling EAFD, a hazardous waste generated by the recycling of steel scrap and the companies long term objective is to operate a network of recycling plants covering each of the major steel recycling regions of the world. Zinc processing plant refurbishment and upgrade Project Project Lifecycle Services provided project management services to assist in the refurbishment of a new leach and purification plant based on the treatment of Electric Arc Furnace Dust (EAFD), a product of steel recycling.

Dual redundant components and circuits (N+1) to minimise the risk of any service disruption to any portion of a customer facility.

Secondary – Generic pharmaceutical new-build extension tablet manufacturing facility Project Project Lifecycle Services provided project management services to assist in the building of a new two level GMP tablet manufacturing facility to IMB standards incorporating storage of raw materials, dispensing of raw materials, granulation / mixing, drying, milling, blending, tablet compression, storage of finished product and shipping.

    UK-based, privately owned Group that is part of a worldwide association of independent pharmaceutical companies that have been developing and providing medicines to patients since the 1920s. Secondary - Pharmaceutical tablet manufacturing plant refurbishment Project Project Lifecycle Services provided project management services to assist in a Facility Refurbishment / Expansion & Services Infrastructure Replacement Project and Complete refurbishment / upgrade of a single level tablet manufacturing facility to GMP MCA standards incorporating the IBC system. Services infrastructure replacement programme including Steam, CHW and LTHW pipework / systems as well as new TCWW, THWW, CIP, PHWW and Clean Steam system.
